Russ Walker has over twenty years of experience as a systems developer, R&D executive and technology advocate, including over fifteen years in the medical device and healthcare information industries. Since 1993, as the principal of Walker Associates, he has provided product development consulting services to clients ranging from small entrepreneurial firms to Fortune 500 companies Merck and Pacificare. He is also an Associate Professor at DeVry University in Long Beach, teaching courses in computer information systems, telecommunications and digital electronics. Previously, from 1985 to 1993, Russ was employed by CompuMed Inc., a medical systems company, in various software development and management capacities including Vice President of Operations and R&D. He also served on CompuMeds Board of Directors. Earlier, Russ began his work with critical software systems in the aerospace industry, as an analyst and manager for Hughes Aircraft and Logicon. He holds a Master of Science degree in Applied Physics from Caltech, a Marketing MBA from California State University-Long Beach, and Bachelors degrees in Physics and Computer Science from Murray State University, where he earned national championships in intercollegiate speech and debate.
